28-Day Silk Road Tour

Day 1 Beijing to Lanzhou (D)                                             
After arriving, our guide will pick you up at the airport and check in the hotel

Day2 Lanzhou (B+L+D)
After breakfast, we will visit Binglinsi Temple and Rewi Alley's school.
Accommodation: Zijinghua Hotel or the same class

Day 3 Lanzhou to Wuwei to Zhangye (B+L+D)
After breakfast, we will take bus from Lanzhou to Wuwei. Then we will visit Leitai Tombs of Han Dynasty. Then we will move to Zhangye and visit Zhangye Grand Temple.

Day4 Zhangye to Jiayuguan (B+L+D)
After breakfast, we will move to Jiayuguan and visit Jiayuguan pass.

Day 5 Jiayuguan to Dunhuang (B+L+D)
We will move to Dunhuang and visit and Mogao Grottoes.

Day6 Dunhuang (B+L+D)
We will visit Singing Sand Mountain and The crescent Moon Lake. After lunch, we will visit Yangguan Museum.

Day 7 Dunhuang (B+L+D)
Today we will vist Yandan Ghost City.

Day 8 Dunhuang to Hami ( 6 hours)
After breakfast, we will visit Yandan Ghost City. Drive to Hami. Then we will visit Hami king's Mausoleum, and the Tomb of Gaisi ( Khsyia Ghojam Mazar).

Day 9 Hami to Turpan (420km- 6 hrs) (B+L+D)
In the morning drive to Turpan. After lunch visit the Tuyuq Valley ¨C a very old Uighur village which is famous for its sacred Muslim cemetery and the Buddhist Caves (the caves are not opened yet). Then visit the Gaochang Ancient City and drive pass the Flaming Mt. on the way to the hotel. In the evening enjoy Uighurs?ˉ Singing and Dancing Show.

Day 10 Turpan to Korla (390km- 6 hrs) (B+L+D)
In the morning visit the Emin Minaret and the Mosque, Karez Irrigation System and the Ancient City of Jiaohe. Be a guest of a Uighur Family to taste local dishes. In the afternoon drive to Korla. En route visit the Bostan Lake the biggest inner fresh water lake in China, upon arrival in Korla do some city tour.

Day 11 Korla to Kucha (290km- 4.5 hrs) (B+L+D)
In the morning drive to Kucha. In the afternoon visit the Subash Ancient City and the Grand Mosque.

Day 12 Kucha to Aksu (350km) (B+L+D)
In the morning drive to Aksu, en route visit the Kizil Grottoes and the Yardan Landform.

Day 13 Aksu to Kashgar (520km- 8hrs) (B+L+D)
Drive along the edge of the Taklamakan Desert.

Day 14 Kashgar (B+L+D)
Visit the Sunday Bazaar and the Livestock Market (only Sundays) and the Apaq Hoja Mausoleum, Eidgah Mosque, Handicraft Street.

Day 15 Kashgar to Karakul Lake to Kashgar (400km)
In the morning drive along the Karakoram Highway, visit the Karakul Lake.

Day 16 Kashgar to Yarkand 200km (3.5 hrs) to Hotan 320 Km (5 hours) (B+L+D)
In the morning drive to Yarkand. After lunch visit the Altunluk Mazar (Yarkand Kings'  Mausoleum and the local Bazaar. Onward to Hotan.

Day 17 Hotan (B+L+D)
Today we will visit the Silk Workshop in Jiya Village, and then visit the Carpet Factory. visit the Malikawat Ruined City. In the afternoon, visit the 500 years Old Walnut Tree and the Orchid. Also visit the Mulberry Trunk paper making family.

Day18 Hotan to Taklamakan Desert to Alar to Shayar to Kucha 650km (B+L+D)
Drive along the newly built Cross Taklamakan 2nd Desert Highway, visit the Tamarisk Forests.

Day19 Kucha to Korla to Bayinbulak (road under construction, hopefully opened in 2010) 300km (B+L+D)
Enjoy the mountain scenery.

Day 20 Bayinbulak to Narat (90km) (B+L+D)
Visit the Bayinbulak Grassland and the Swan Lake, visit the Mongol Yurt.

Day 21 Narat to Yining (280km ¨C 5 hrs ) (B+L+D)
In the morning visit the Narat Pastureland. In the afternoon drive to Yining, visit the Ili River Bridge and enjoy the sunset.

Day 22 Yining to Kuitun 480 km (B+L+D)
In the morning visit the Huiyuan Ancient City, drive to Korghos Pass; visit the Sayram Lake and Wild Fruit Valley.

Day23 Kuitun to Karamay to Burjin 500km (B+L+D)
In the morning visit the Ghost Town and the Oil Derricks.

Day 24 Burjin to Jiadengyu to Kanas Lake (B+L+D)
In the morning, drive to Kanas Lake, en route visit the Dragon Bay, Sacred Bay, Crescent Moon Bay. In the afternoon, tour the lake by lake cruise.

Day 25 Jiadengyu to Kanas Lake to Jiadengyu to Burjin (B+L+D)
In the morning drive to Kanas Lake, climb the Fish Observing Pavillion. In the afternoon, drive to Burjin (180km ¨C3hours); In the evening, visit the Night Market which is famous for its roasted fish.

Day26 Burjin to Fuyun to Heavenly Lake 400km (B+L+D)
Drive across the Jungar Basin and the Karamaili Wild Animals Nature Reserve. In the evening stay at the Heavenly Lake Nature Reserve.

Day27Heavenly Lake to Urumqi (120km- 1.5hrs) (B+L+D)
In the morning visit the Heavenly Lake , enjoy your lake cruise . After lunch drive to Urumqi.

Day 28Urumqi to Beijing Departure (B+L+D)
After breakfast, we will transfer you from Urumqi to Beijing, and then you take the flights from Beijing to your country by yourselves.
